NEHU-Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community College (DDUCC), Wahiajer a constituent college of the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) hosted a six-day Musical Troupe training programme from October 14 to 19 for band members of three musical groups. The mission is to inspire local artists, create music and help students realise their artistic talents.
The training programme attracted a number of various young local artists, students passionate about music who are ready for a challenge, to develop and take their skills to the next level.
The programme which concluded yesterday was a success with the participants receiving new knowledge with musical training and demonstration from renowned film producer and distributor Prasenjit Mishra who stands as a towering figure in Bollywood, charting an illustrious career marked by unparalleled success.
Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice-Chancellor of NEHU and Prof. Sherwin M. Sungoh, Principal in-charge DDUCC emphasised the university’s commitment to uplift the skill set of artists by providing an inclusive environment thus allowing youth of the community to explore their passion and develop their musical skills both in national and international level for learning a new language, acquiring knowledge of different musical genres, styles, and techniques allows them to communicate with a wider range of audiences and collaborate with diverse artists.
The valedictory programme was attended by Sanat Solanki, Founder of Tantra Alternate Media Group, Mumbai as the chief guest.
In his speech, Solanki expressed happiness with the initiative taken by the university to organise such training programmes to promote the youth of the community. He encouraged the participants to recognise their talents and keep working hard through strong commitments to reach their goals in life.
The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks from Programme Coordinator Wolnish Rymbai along with distribution of certificates to all the participants.
