TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today met with the families of the victims of Mukroh killing in Shillong.
She expressed her deep anguish over the tragic incident and instructed her party members to stand by the families and fight for delivery of justice.
The party has extended an ex-gratia support of Rs 5 lakhs to the families of the victims.
On November 22, five civilians from Meghalaya were killed in an open firing in Mukroh village, West Jaintia Hills along the disputed Assam-Meghalaya border.
Banerjee is on a two-day visit to Meghalaya to boost her party’s morale before the Assembly elections in 2023.
