Meghalaya People United Front (MPUF) East Jaintia Hills district unit president Michal Chyrmang today claimed that the MPUF leadership removed him from the organisation because they knew that he along with some of the members has decided to quit the organisation.
Chyrmang said that the reason he decided to quit the MPUF after being with it for five years is that the organisation never opposed the public hearing of the Star Cement.
He alleged that there is something behind the scene that the MPUF central leadership even barred him from opposing the public hearing when other NGOs and the public in the region had fiercely opposed the same.
“This organisation also does not ban its members to be involved in politics,” Chyrmang alleged adding that the MPUF also does not have any desire for the ILP like the rest of the other NGOs and the people of the State.
He also alleged that he no longer wanted to associate himself with an organisation that is alleged of Benami activities with the China Bazar at Iawmusiang, Jowai.
