The state cabinet today notified the service rules of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Speaking to reporters later, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the MPSC has been functional for decades but never had service rules for employees.
The cabinet also passed an ordinance to make a minor amendment to the Meghalaya Medical Council Act 1987.
The change simply replaces “Medical Council of India” with “National Medical Commission”. The Medical Council of India was a statutory body that established uniform and high standards of medical education in India until its dissolution in September 2020 when it was replaced with the National Medical Commission.
