Prime Minister Narendra Modi took interest in Meghalaya’s silk products that were on display at the G20 International Craft Bazar, which was held on the sidelines of the recently-concluded G20 summit in New Delhi.
Meghalaya’s products were displayed under the Textiles Department and Community and Rural Development brands Ryndia and Tribal Weaves respectively. There were also handicrafts of the Tourism Department and Meghalayan Age.
Modi visited the Meghalaya stall, interacted with the team and expressed keen interest in the organically produced, ethically sourced eri ryndia that is in tune with the sustainable development goals of climate action, women’s empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, an official press release said today.
