The Commemoration Day for Police Martyrs and Police Services Flag Day were observed by the Meghalaya Police’s 2nd Battalion Goeragre today.
A wreath was laid at the unit’s martyrs’ memorial and families of the unit’s martyrs were visited and they were presented with a memento in recognition of the sacrifice of their relatives, warm blankets, one month’s dry rations and sweets for the children.
A band display by the unit’s platoon band at the parade ground was attended by the local MLA, MDC, senior police officials, senior officials of the West Garo Hills district administration, Nokmas and family members of the unit personnel.
