Martin Luther Christian University’s Department of Tourism and Travel Management will observe National Safety Day on March 4 by organising a workshop on ‘First Aid in Tourism’ in the MLCU Hall from 9:30am.
The event is being organised in collaboration with Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital to carry out various sessions throughout the day on topics related to knowledge and skills required for handling and administering help during medical emergencies in the tourism sector.
This will include sections on physical trauma, such as head injuries; toxicology, which ranges from dog bites to food poisoning and drug overdose; and medical emergencies, such as fainting, chest pain and allergic reactions.
