Shillong, Jan 30: Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) commemorated the graduation ceremony of the certificate course in Self-Efficacy for Personal Agency (SEPA), a 200-hour faculty development programme conducted over 6 months.

SEPA has been developed in response to reports pertaining to the future world of work by leading global organizations such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) which highlight that nearly 40 per cent of workers’ core skills will change or become obsolete by 2030. This massive shift necessitates a move away from static, technical knowledge towards adaptable, “human-centric” skills that AI cannot easily replicate.

Ottilie Anban, Founder and Director, Evolve Lives Foundation, who is the lead facilitator, provided an overview of the 200-hour training and reflected on the significant transformation observed among the participants where the pre-course and post-course evaluations showed an average improvement of nearly 40 percentage points on measures of self-efficacy and personal agency.

Editor of Shillong Times Patricia Mukhim attended the event as chief guest. Dr. Gideon Arulmani, Director of Promise Foundation, and MLCU Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Iwamon Wara Joyce Laloo also spoke on the occasion.

Participants, Dr. Nadeen Pakyntein, Kali Sema and. Khriekezhanuo Kezo shared personal testimonies, recounting their learning experiences and the personal and professional insights gained through the programme.
