The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Department of Environment and Traditional Ecosystems at Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong, organised a tree plantation programme yesterday.
The event took place at MLCU’s Science and Technology Innovation Hub at Umsawli, Mawpat. It was an initiative towards improving the local environment in this area and to create a sense of responsibility for the students to care for the trees and ensure their growth.
A hundred fruit trees were planted by the guests, faculty and students, out of which 50 were plum and the other 50 peach.
