Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) conducted an orientation programme for 520 students, newly enrolled in the university for the academic year 2022-23.
The programme was held at the Windermere resorts, Umpling here yesterday.
MLCU Pro Chancellor, Rev Dr Samuel Meshack highlighted the importance of human values and service to the community. Officers of the university highlighted the different aspects of academics at MLCU in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
Many aspects were highlighted such as blended learning, multidisciplinary approach to education and importance of community engagement. Information on student services such as counselling services, scholarships, committees pertaining to student well-being, student clubs and activities such as National Service Scheme, Rangers and Rovers and the Alumni Association were shared.
An alumnus of the university, Joel Khongwir also shared his experiences of his journey at MLCU and exhorted the newly joined students to strive and aim high during their time.
The new students also took the MLCU pledge at the orientation programme.
