Two Meghalaya Police officers have been named among the 152 winners of the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation for 2021, it was revealed today.
The two are Deputy Superintendent of Police Banraplang Jyrwa MPS and Deputy Inspector General of Police Anurag Kumar IPS.
The medal was constituted in 2018 with the objective of promoting high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognise excellence in investigating officers.
Jyrwa is the Deputy SP (City) in Shillong. He took over in this role in 2019 after being transferred from the Technology Crime Cell of the Criminal Investigation Department.
Kumar was on deputation to the National Investigation Agency, the Meghalaya Police informed through a release. He is posted in Tura.
