‘Miss Meghalaya’ has returned after a gap of two years, allowing aspiring young models of the State to compete for the title of “Miss Meghalaya 2022” as well as giving wings to their modelling career.
Speaking to media persons, Miss Meghalaya Organization head Aakriti Shen, who is also the reigning Miss Meghalaya, said that the pageant will be held in September 2022.
She said and through this, aspiring young girls can also get training for the North East Beauty Pageant which will be held later this year in Nagaland. “Miss Meghalaya this year coincides with Golden Jubilee Celebration of Statehood, therefore our main focus and the theme of the pageant will revolve around the celebration” she said.
Auditions will be held on August 20 at Youth Hostel Lower Lachumiere from 10 am onwards.
Shen said all participants must be a citizen of Meghalaya with a minimum height of 5.3ft, below 25 years of age and unmarried.
“There are attractive cash prizes which includes Rs. 1 lakhs for the winner, Rs. 50,000 for 1st runner up and Rs. 25, 000 for the 2nd runner up besides the attractive cash prizes for various sub title” she added.
Shen also informed both the winner and the 1st runner up will get a chance to represent Meghalaya in the Miss Northeast 2022, which will be held in Kohima, Nagaland on October 2022.
