Shillong, Sep 20: The North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong today organised a mini marathon, Mini “Run for Ayurveda”, which was flagged off by Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar.
A large number of participants, including sportspersons, students, officials, and health enthusiasts, took part in the event to spread awareness about Ayurveda and its importance in promoting holistic health and wellness.
Extending his greetings, the Governor emphasised Ayurveda’s role as a traditional system of medicine that continues to provide natural and preventive healthcare. “Ayurveda, our ancient system of medicine, not only promotes physical wellbeing but also emphasizes harmony between the body, mind, spirit, and nature,” he said.
He urged people to adopt the wisdom of Ayurveda in their daily lives and contribute to a lifestyle that nurtures both personal health and the environment.
The Governor also congratulated NEIAH Shillong for its efforts in spreading awareness and wished the celebrations great success.
The program was organized in collaboration with the District Sports Office as part of the nationwide observance of Ayurveda Day 2025.
