The Deputy Labour Commissioner of West Garo Hills has informed that all migrant labourers must register with the Labour Department and acquire a registration card.
This is in keeping with the Meghalaya Identification, Registration (Safety & Security) of Migrant Workers Act 2020.
The necessary documents required for registration are EPIC, Aadhaar or driving licence, PAN card or BPL card or any other documents issued by the government as well as two passport size photographs and Rs 50 registration fee.
Registration can be done online at investmeghalya.gov.in or at the District Labour Office, Dakopgre, Tura.
