Banshanlang Kharbyngar, a local football referee, has passed away suddenly, the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) announced today.
Kharbyngar, who was in his mid-thirties, died on Friday morning.
As a mark of respect, the MFA decided to postpone all the Meghalaya Amateur League matches scheduled for Saturday.
“The Meghalaya Football Association expresses its sincere sympathy to the family of the late Banshanlang Kharbyngar on his sudden and unexpected demise,” the MFA said. “His demise is a great loss, not only for his intermediate families but for the Meghalaya football fraternity as a whole.”
