A philately exhibition under Meghapex concluded today at the State Convention Centre here.
The event was inaugurated by Pyniaid Sing Syiem, Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, on the opening day yesterday.
This year’s exhibition featured an array of unique philatelic exhibits from across the country and around the globe, showcasing the artistry and history of stamp collecting. The event was graced by prominent guests, including Idashisha Nongrang, Director General of Police; Sanjiv Ranjan, Chief Postmaster General of the North Eastern Circle; and Mildred Iawphniaw, Postmaster General (Rtd).
189 students from numerous schools in and around Shillong also attended, enhancing the educational aspect of the exhibition.
A special cover commemorating the KHADC was unveiled during the inauguration. In addition to the exhibits, engaging activities such as letter writing, stamp design contests and a quiz competition were conducted.
