The Meghalaya football team, who finished as the runners-up of the 76th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy 2022-23, will be felicitated on Friday for their historic achievement.
Meghalaya lost the final to Karnataka 3-2 on March 10 but, even still, second place was the best ever finish for the state team in the prestigious national tournament.
The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs will organise a parade for the player starting from Mawlai Madan Heh at 2:30pm and then proceeding through Jaiaw Jingthangbriew, Jaiaw St Joseph, Jaiaw Langsning, Jaiaw Pdeng, Mawkhar Main Road, Motphran, Police Bazar, AG’s Office, Additional Secretariat, Barik, Malki Point, Dhanketi, Don Bosco Square, Laitumkhrah Beat House and reach Fire Brigade Ground at 4:30pm.
There they will be formally felicitated by the new Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Shakliar Warjri.
