The Khasi Students Union (KSU) has said that students residing in different campuses in Imphal are safe.
Concerned with the tensed situation in Manipur, the KSU has also coordinated with the All Manipur Students Union with regards to the safety of students from Meghalaya
“We have sent an SOS to All Manipur Students’ Union and till now no Khasi is harmed but rioting and lynching is going on in the street and Meghalaya students had sought refuge within their hostels,” KSU General Secretary Donald V Thabah said.
He said that the students union in Manipur are working round the clock to ensure the safety of NE students studying in Manipur.
Earlier today the KSU received a distress call from Meghalaya students staying in Central Agricultural University Girls’ Hostel in Games Village, Imphal.
