Meghalaya has shown the highest growth in GST revenue collection among all North East states for the period of February this year.
The total GST collection from the State in February was Rs 201 crore which was a 37 per cent jump from February 2021 which was only 147 crore.
This is as per latest data from the Union Finance Ministry.
Manipur came second with GST revenue of Rs 39 crore in February this year which showed an increase of 20 per cent from the collection in February last year which was Rs 32 crore.
Mizoram came third with GST revenue collection of Rs 24 crore in February this year, an increase of 15 per cent from the revenue of Rs 21 crore in February 2021.
Assam’s GST revenue in February this year was Rs 1008 crore which was an increase of only 7 per cent. In February last year, the GST revenue from Assam was Rs 946 crore.
Tripura saw a 4 per cent increase of GST revenue in February this year which was Rs 66 crore as compared to Rs 63 crore in February 2021.
However, Sikkim did not show any increase in GST collection. It was Rs 222 crore in February this year and the same amount in February last year.
Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland were the two states with decline in GST revenue by 9 per cent and 6 percent respectively.
In February this year, Arunachal Pradesh generated Rs 56 crore as GST revenue whereas in February last year it was Rs 61 crore.
Nagaland which generated Rs 35 crore as GST revenue in February last year also saw its revenue drop to Rs 33 crore in February this year.
The gross GST revenue collected all over the country in the month of February 2022 is Rs 1,33,026 crore of which CGST is Rs 24,435 crore, SGST is Rs 30,779 crore, IGST is Rs 67,471crore (including Rs 33,837 crore collected on import of goods) and cess is Rs 10,340 crore (including Rs 638 crore collected on import of goods).
The Central government has settled Rs 26,347 crore to CGST and Rs 21,909 crore to SGST from IGST.
The total revenue of Centre and the states in the month of February 2022 after regular settlement is Rs 50,782 crore for CGST and Rs 52,688 crore for the SGST.
