Shillong, Jan 29: The Meghalaya government has postponed its first-ever Spice Festival in Mumbai following the tragic death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The festival was scheduled to be held from January 30 to February 1 at the Jio World Drive, Mumbai.
“This decision has been taken as a mark of respect and in keeping with the state mourning period declared following the tragedy. The Government of Meghalaya extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stands in solidarity with the people and the Government of Maharashtra during this moment of loss.” the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare said.
Revised dates and further details regarding the Meghalaya Spice Festival will be announced in due course.
