Meghalaya along with Kerala, Gujarat, Manipur, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh won the award for the ‘Best Performing State’ in the implementation of health insurance scheme – Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission.
The award was presented by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today in New Delhi on the closing day of the two-day Arogya Manthan 2022, celebrating completion of four years of Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, and one year of Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission.
The Union Health Minister awarded the Ayushman Utkrishtata Puraskaar (Ayushman Excellence Awards) 2022 to felicitate the Top Performing State — Andhra Pradesh, the Top Performing District to Parvathipuram Manyam in Andhra Pradesh, the Top Performing Government Facility to District Hospital Dharwad, Karnataka.
He also gave the award for the Best Performing States to Kerala, Meghalaya, Gujarat, Manipur, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the Best Performing Union Territories to Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and the PMAMs (Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras) under the AB PM-JAY and ABDM.
Mandaviya also urged the states that are still to cover eligible beneficiaries, to accelerate their efforts to provide Ayushman Bharat cards to all of them. He also encouraged stakeholders to bring innovative solutions for integrating technology in digital health.
Ayushman Bharat PMJAY is a national public health insurance fund of the Central government that aims to provide free access to health insurance coverage for low income earners in the country and providing a cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for medical treatment in empanelled hospitals, both public and private.
