The Health and Family Welfare Department has issued special protocols for visitors to the state whose period of stay will be up to and not beyond three days.
Those who plan to stay for three days or less in Meghalaya will have to first register on meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm. They will have to possess a valid return ticket by air or rail and those intending on travelling by road must mention the licence plate number of the vehicle they will be using.
If travellers have a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR report from a recognized laboratory within three days of the sample being taken, they will be exempt from the rapid antigen test usually carried out on all entrants at the Meghalaya border.
Travellers will be permitted to stay only at hotels and guesthouses have been approved by the government. Accommodation will have to be booked prior to their arrival.
Visitors to the state will also have to keep a note of all places they visit during their stay, restrict their movements to what is absolutely necessary, meet as few people as possible and follow health advisories at all times.
They will also have to download the Aarogya Setu app onto their mobile phones prior to entering Meghalaya and are only allowed to use the same vehicle throughout their stay.
