The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya got a new Inspector General with Hardeep Singh who assumed charge today.
Singh succeeds Kuldeep Saini, who retired from service after rendering 36 years of service. Singh joined this frontier on his promotion after serving on the Jammu frontier.
Singh is a cadre officer of the 1986 batch and a well-decorated officer, having served in several BSF headquarters and units, including the prestigious BSF Academy in Tekanpur, Madhya Pradesh.
On taking charge, he emphasised on the importance of cooperation of all stakeholders for effective border management and expressed his concern on maintaining cordial relations with the border population, which is the first step towards having a peaceful and crime-free border.
Singh said that the main task of the BSF is to create a sense of security among the border populace, which will be his first priority as IG of the Meghalaya frontier.
