State BJP chief spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang has credited the party workers led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the saffron party’s return to power in Delhi.
“I attribute the landslide victory to the sincere efforts of all the BJP Karyakartas of Delhi led by none other than Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi Ji,” Kharkrang told HP on Saturday.
He said that the electorates of Delhi have experienced the worst kind of corrupt government in the nation’s capital and have decided to end the corrupt regime of the AAP by voting for BJP, whom they see as a better future.
“The people of Delhi have witnessed the fast pace of development experienced by BJP-ruled states and decided to be a part of that development to achieve the party agenda of a Visksit Bharat. The people of Delhi have learned a bitter lesson and ensured not to allow AAP to again entice them with false promises,” he Kharkrang said.
“This is the people’s determination to vote against a corrupt government,” he added.
Earlier, BJP workers in Meghalaya celebrated the party’s victory bursting crackers outside the party office in Shillong.
With leads in 48 of the 70 seats, the BJP is set to reclaim power in Delhi after more than 26 years, while the AAP, reduced to 22 seats, faces a major setback. The Congress remains on track for its third consecutive electoral washout in the capital.
