After a day’s break, Zone 1 action in the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s U-14 Inter District Tournament recommenced, with victories for Shillong Cricket Association and All Jaintia Cricket Association in Nongpoh today.
The afternoon match saw Shillong bowl very economically to restrict Ri-Bhoi, who had chosen to bat first after winning the toss, to 87/6 in 20 overs (Roshan Shah 18 and Pynshailang Lyngdoh 18; Parisadh Jain 2/6). In reply, SCA lost three wickets on their way to a seven-wicket victory in 14 overs (Bishesh Chettri 30; Benedick Makdoh 2/13). Chettri was named player-of-the-match in what was SCA’s third victory in as many games.
Earlier in the day, AJCA registered their first victory by defeating East Khasi Hills. Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem of AJCA was named player-of-the-match after scoring 26 runs and taking a wicket.
