Shillong, Apr 21: The attendance of students at SSLC exams has so far been satisfactory but the Education Department is keeping an eye on the worsening Covid-19 situation in the state.
Controller of Exams at the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), TR Laloo, said yesterday that the exams had begun on a good note. However, since new cases of the coronavirus keep increasing in Meghalaya, the number of students who have missed or will miss their papers will only be known after the end of the board exams.
The government has stated that those who have to miss the exams due to testing positive for Covid-19 will be allowed to sit the tests at a later date.
“In this situation, we are taking it one day at a time. It is indeed challenging and we hope we will be able to complete the examinations as scheduled,” Laloo told Highland Post.
