Mawshynrut MLA Methodius Dkhar has urged the State government to consider the proposal for the 36 km Nongjri-Mawieit road and construction of the 80 km Shahlang-Maheskhola road.
Taking part in the general discussion on the budget, the MLA said that the Mawshynrut civil sub-division created in 2017 covering more than 350 villages with a population of approximately 1 lakh still functions from a rented property and expressed hope that they will get a building this financial year.
He also emphasised that his constituent aspires to have a government college or a government-aided college as the land for the purpose is also already available.
He also urged the government to set up a broom-processing unit including a storage and warehouse to support the farmers in the constituency.
