C&RD Minister and local MLA, Hamletson Dobling today inaugurated the Water Conservation Tank at Mawnianglah village in East Khasi Hills.
The tank was constructed at an amount of Rs 17.50 lakhs under the District Mineral Fund. The total capacity of the tank is 148420 litres.
Speaking on the occasion Dohling stated that it is a joyous moment for the people of the village as their long-awaited dream had finally turned into reality with the inauguration of the water tank. He said that the water tank will provide water not only for washing and bathing purpose but also for consumption. He appreciated the local residents for their co operation in providing land and also for working together with the PHE department in the timely completion of the project.
