The accolade was conferred on representatives of the Meghalaya government at the Outlook Traveller Awards 2022 function in New Delhi.
Awardees were chosen by a team of expert jurors from across the industry and government agencies based on global tourism parameters. The awards were handed out by Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy, who is also DoNER Minister.
Another destination in Meghalaya, the ‘Shillong to Sohra road’ was also nominated among the Best Scenic Roads in India.
