Shillong, Aug 21: The Mawkyrwat Socio Economic & People Development Forum (MSEPDF) of South West Khasi Hills District met with Deputy Commissioner Barnari Mawlong to raise pressing concerns related to development and safety in the region.
Led by President Daros Ramsiej and Secretary Bright Wanniang, the delegation stressed the importance of increasing patrolling in the India-Bangladesh border area to enhance safety and security for citizens.
The Police Department was also urged to intensify evening patrols at the Mawkyrwat market, where incidents of theft and robbery have been on the rise.
The forum also urged the need for officials and government employees to maintain punctuality in their offices, ensuring that public services are delivered efficiently.
Mawlong assured the forum that these matters will be looked into to ensure overall safety and security in the district.
