Shillong, Apr 10: The office of the Superintendent of Police in West Garo Hills has mandated that all individuals and establishments hosting foreign visitors must submit their details within 24 hours of their arrival.
The directive is aimed at various accommodation providers, hotels, guest houses, lodges, homestays, rented houses, and hostels. Additionally, institutions such as schools, colleges, and hospitals are also included in this mandate. Private individuals who may host foreign nationals must also adhere to this regulation.
The registration pertains to Form-III, which was formerly known as Form ‘C’, a requirement outlined under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
Superintendent of Police Abraham T Sangma said that this registration measure is crucial for national security and compliance with Indian immigration laws. All concerned are required to submit the necessary details online through the Bureau of Immigration portal.
Failure to comply with the submission requirement or any delay in reporting may result in penal action under the relevant legal provisions, police warned.
The police have also urged citizens and stakeholders to widely disseminate the information through appropriate communication channels, including social media, to ensure awareness and strict adherence.
