The court of the East Khasi Hills Judicial Magistrate First Class has sentenced a man to three years and one month in jail for attempt rape committed in 2018.
In a verdict passed on September 13, the court convicted Bison Surong of Mynsang village and he was also ordered to pay a fine of 1,000
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said on August 27, 2018 at 10 pm Surong attempted to commit rape on one woman at her residence.
A case was registered under Madanrting police station that year which was thoroughly investigated by investigating officer (IO) WPSI P Wahlang.
