Shillong, Jul 31: The court of the Special Judge (POCSO) in Shillong has sentenced a man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor.
The court in its verdict on July 28, also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Rapborlang Kharshiing, who was found guilty of the crime committed in 2018.
In default of fine the convicted felon will have to undergo an additional six-month imprisonment for the offence punishable under section 6 POCSO Act, 2012
The case was registered at Mawngap PS and investigated into by women police sub inspector L. Kharjana.
