A man in Ri Bhoi safely handed a slow loris to the wildlife department after shelling out money to some persons who tried to kill it.
Sharlestin Kurbah of Laiphew Diengngan village under Mawhati constituency was able to rescue the animal by paying Rs 1000 to some persons who tried to kill it after they found him from a nearby forest area.
Kurbah later handed over the slow loris to authorities for its safe release into the forest.
The health condition of the animal is also said to been normal without any injury.
