One Waniakyrshanborlang Makdoh has been found guilty and sentenced to five years imprisonment under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police informed today.
The case stems from 2014 when Makdoh was accused by the uncle of the victim of sexual assault (or outrage of modesty, as the police put it) in the family home in Mawlai.
The original FIR was filed on September 27, 2014 and Makdoh was arrested three days later. The charge sheet was filed on December 22, 2014 but it has taken years for the victim to finally get justice.
