A man died of suspected drug overdose while allegedly injecting drugs into his arm on Thursday.
According to Ri Bhoi police, the man aged between 30-35 years had locked himself inside a toilet of a petrol pump station in Norbong, Ri Bhoi district. When the door was broken open, the man was found unconscious with a syringe on his right hand.
Police said the man was shifted to Byrnihat PHC for immediate medical assistance, but was declared dead by the doctor there.
The man was wearing blue jeans pant and a peach-colored t-shirt with a tattoo on his left arm.
His body has been kept at the Civil Hospital, Nongpoh morgue for identification and claims.
