The Jaiñtia Students Union (JSU), Jowai circle has urged the government to make the maternity and child hospital at Panaliar in Jowai functional, for women and children to get the best medical treatment.
In a letter to Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma today the union said that the hospital was completed pre-Covid times, which the government has to immediately make it functional.
Since the hospital is planned to have the needed infrastructure with proper health facilities such as OPD, OD, Labour Room, ICU, NICU etc, the JSU said this will greatly help improve the health of mothers and babies and allow them to have access to the best treatment.
