Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), a private institute located in Ri-Bhoi, today slashed the fee it charges students for their original certificates after a large protest on the campus.
MGU students were aggrieved by the high rate for their combined marksheet, migration certificate and provisional certificate, which would amount to Rs 28,000. Under pressure from the protesting students, led by the Khasi Students Union, the varsity’s authorities have now slashed the rate to Rs 8,000.
