Shillong, Mar 17: There are “adequate and sufficient” stocks of LPG for cooking gas requirements in the state but there are slight delays in transit, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of East Khasi Hills has informed.
Through a press release dated yesterday but shared with the media today, the DC said that oil marketing companies and LPG distributors have confirmed that regular supply and distribution of LPG cylinders are being maintained without any disruption.
“The current stock position is stable and sufficient to meet the requirements of consumers across the district. However, due to transit issues, there is a delay to clear the distribution backlog from 1.2 days to 1.4 days,” the release stated.
The public was advised not to resort to panic booking or unnecessary hoarding of cylinders, as such practices may create artificial shortages and cause inconvenience to other consumers. Consumers are requested to continue booking LPG cylinders as per their normal requirement through the regular booking channels.
The authorities are closely monitoring the stock position and distribution to ensure uninterrupted supply. For the smooth and transparent distribution of domestic LPG cylinders, all consumers are advised to complete their e-KYC verifications at their respective agencies at the earliest.
For any concerns or irregularities in supply, consumers may contact their respective LPG distributors or report the matter to the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply).
