Shillong, Feb 25: S&E Ventures – a homegrown fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) venture has formally signed an agreement with Angie Shirhabs, a food startup incubated under Prime Meghalaya, for manufacturing premium chicken pickle.
The partnership aimed at producing high-quality, hygienically processed chicken pickle for regional and national markets under the brand name, “Hoi Kiw,” a traditional Khasi chant symbolizing pride, identity, and cultural heritage.
The brand seeks to celebrate local flavours while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Under the agreement, Angie Shirhabs will undertake the manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to the proprietary recipe, quality benchmarks, packaging specifications, and food safety standards set by S&E Ventures. The brand owner will oversee branding, marketing, and distribution, positioning the product as a premium offering in the processed food segment.
The current local pickle market is largely dominated by unlicensed and non-compliant products that operate without proper FSSAI registration. In contrast, the branded chicken pickle will be fully FSSAI-compliant, manufactured under strict hygiene protocols and regulatory standards, ensuring that it is safe, reliable, and suitable for all consumers, a press release said.
The first production cycle under this Agreement is anticipated to commence shortly, marking the beginning of a long-term and growth-oriented association between S&E Ventures and Angie Shirhabs.
