A one-day legal awareness programme was held for students at Laitryngew village under Sohra Civil Sub Division today by the East Khasi Hills District Legal Services Authority.
The programme focussed on NALSA (Legal Services to the victims of drug abuse and the eradication of the drug Menace) Scheme, 2015 and NALSA (Child-Friendly Legal Services to Children and their Protection Scheme) 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012″.
The programme was attended by B. Kharlukhi, Secretary, DLSA, Shillong, Pynhun Syiem SDPO Sohra, Anthony B. Khongsit, officer in charge Sohra, Police Station among others.
The programme includes a rally participated by the students and lectures by the resource persons on the topics: Free Legal Aid & Services, NALSA 15100 Helpline, Drug Abuse, Law & Punishment, POCSO Act, 2012 Offences and Punishment.
