A newly formed organisation called the Ri Bhoi Peoples’ Council (RBPC) today held its official oath taking ceremony for its office bearers at the District Library Auditorium Hall in Nongpoh.
Advisor of the Ri Bhoi Dorbar, R.R Kynsai Makdoh administered the oath to all the leaders to be led by Jason Lennox Nongrum as the President, Vincent Sohkhwai General Secretary, and Mission Tron Vice Presidents, among others.
Nongrum during his inaugural speech emphasised that the formation of the organisation is not driven by personal gain but dedicated to the collective well-being of the people of Ri Bhoi.
He spoke about myriad issues and challenges facing the community that the organization aims to address and stressed that to transform these issues into tangible improvements, the collective support of all local residents of Ri Bhoi, especially the revered elder leaders of the district, is indispensable.
Nongrum said his vision for the RBPC is one that unites the community and leverages the wisdom and guidance of the district’s elder leaders to enact meaningful change for the betterment of Ri Bhoi.
Reverend Precious Tmung, President of Ri Bhoi Dorbar, R.B Shadap, former Additional SP of Ri Bhoi, Pluster Syiem, Chairman of Umsning Town Durbar, Rocky Kylla, Chairman of Nongpoh Town Committee, S.F Lyngdoh, and other leaders from Ri Bhoi district were present.
