The Williamnagar Bar Association has asked the state government to “halt the recommendation process” with regards to the proposed amendment of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
The association held its general meeting on August 27 where the issue was discussed. The members unanimously resolved to ask Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to pause the recommendation process until the public has been suitably consulted on the issues.
