Shillong, Mar 28: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Pynursla sub-division has informed that closure of the road between Laitlyngkot and Lyngkyrdem (Chainage Kms 24+00 – 37+00) has resumed from today.
The road needs to be closed at certain times of day to enable the smooth and safe execution of ongoing road construction work.
The closures will run from 10:30 am to 3 pm and 9 pm to 4 am.
All traffic will be permitted to cross from both ends latest by 10:30 am after which construction works will be started by the concerned company along the said stretch, the notice said.
Due to the onset of monsoon season all commuters are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution while commuting through the stretch and to avoid taking any non-essential travel during or immediately after rainfall and during the night, the notice added.
Emergency health services will be facilitated during the closure periods and they may contact the Pynursla Police Station on the number 6909217154 for any co-ordination requirement with the construction company.
