Lafarge Umiam Mining Pvt Ltd (LUMPL) donated two high-flow oxygen machines to the Meghalaya government today as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
The equipment was handed over to Chief Secretary MS Rao by LUMPL operations director Narayan Sharma, who said that the company is continuously working towards the promotion of health and well-being of its communities, employees, stakeholders and to come forward to contribute towards strengthening the efforts of the government in combating Covid-19.
A press release from the firm also said that LUMPL is working very closely with the Nongtrai and Shella Dorbar Shnongs and is providing support to these two communities to help them prepare and combat the virus by ensuring supplies of PPE, N95 masks and hand sanitisers for frontline health workers as well as medicines and vitamins for villagers.
