Shillong, Jan 4: The Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) in Ri Bhoi today organised a village ‘Goshthi-cum-Walking’ seminar covering 15 villages to create awareness on the VB-G-RAM-G Act, 2025.
The programme highlighted key provisions including the increase of guaranteed working days from 100 to 125 days, unemployment guarantee, timely wage payment and empowerment through technology.
In South Garo Hills, Dagal Gopgre, the awareness campaign was attended by 10 village heads representing Badimagre, Papa Songital, Kene Chaneagre, Kenegre, Omakgre, Jalegre, Dagal Gopgre, Dagal Asimgre, Kene Anchengre, and Budugre. A total of 90 job card holders also participated yesterday.
Today the awareness campaign was held at Rinkap Sonawari, Balwatgre, Rikapgre, Rongbalbanggre, and Dagal Gopgre. The walking seminar witnessed active participation of 320 job card holders.
The KVK said during the two-day campaign, a total of 410 job card holders were sensitised about the objectives, benefits, and provisions of the VB-G-RAM-G Act.
