Shillong, Nov 10: Students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantonment brought laurels to the school by securing the second position in the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge (WWGC) 2025 – Zonal Round (East Zone) organized by WWF-India.
Representing the North East Region, the team comprised of Adarsh Singh (Class IX) and Anisha Pathak (Class VIII), who topped teams from across the East Zone, demonstrating exceptional environmental awareness, scientific understanding, and quick thinking.
The zonal round, conducted virtually, witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha, and West Bengal.
The team from Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati (Assam) secured the first position, qualifying for the national finals, while Kendriya Vidyalaya Keonjhar (Odisha) secured the third position.
This year’s challenge saw participation from over 3,500 schools and 400,000 students across 36 States and Union Territories, making it one of the largest school-based environmental quizzes in the world.
The Quiz was conducted by WWF-India and hosted by quiz master Ajay Poonia, with the event coordinated by Aarti Dalal (WWF-India).
