Members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) today shut down several offices, including banks, post offices and companies in East Khasi Hills for allegedly showing disregard to the Behdeiñkhlam festival by remaining open.
The KSU expressed concern at banks and other institutions not shutting down to mark the festival.
In a statement issued here, the KSU said it conducted checks of institutions at Mawlai, FCI in Mawroh, Lumdiengjri, Motphran, Khyndai Lad, Laban, Laitumkhrah, Malki Nongthymmai, Nongmensong and other areas.
