The Khasi Students Union (KSU) has sought an explanation from the Chairman of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC), Shillong, with regards to the post of statistical officer under the AH & Veterinary department.
According to the KSU, as per the advertisement in 2022 one post of statistical officer was to be filled from the Khasi-Jaintia category in the department. However, contradictory to the advertisement, a notification on June 27, 2024 featured two candidates selected for the post.
The KSU said the post was filled by two candidates, one from the Khasi-Jaintia category and the other from the Garo category.
Based on this, the KSU has demanded the commission to halt the recruitment until a clarification is made to the public.
