Shillong, Feb 7: The Khasi Students Union (KSU), Shella unit today pushed back 11 labourers from Assam without valid documents.
According to the union, the labourers were travelling to Lafarge Company for work. They stated that an engineer of the company had facilitated their travel.
The KSU said all the labourers are from Assam who had only Aadhaar and voter ID card with them.
The KSU further maintained that they will continue to check work permits to ensure that non-locals do not illegally enter the state.
